Raising Community Awareness

OCD & Anxiety Support HK believes in the importance of educating the public about mental health so they are familiar with the different types of mental health problems, signs and symptoms and treatment process. Many sufferers do not seek treatment because they are unaware of what they are going through and put it down to stress so they dismiss it. Others are afraid to be given a mental health diagnosis as they worry about the stigma associated with it and do not want to be judged by their family or peers. Mental health problems are treatable but early detection and diagnosis is best. Stigma is the biggest barrier to seeking treatment leaving suffers unwell for longer that they need to and without help.

OCDAHK provides mental health education in a variety of settings; schools, health clinics and corporates. Poor mental health can disrupt daily living and cause an inability to conduct daily activities and routines, go to work/school and have relationships with others.

Poor mental health can affect many areas of students’ lives contributing to poor concentration levels, decline in academic achievement , low energy, deterioration of physical health long term, social withdrawal, mood fluctuations, changes in appetite and sleep patterns , problems with time management and create patterns of negative thinking.

We bring mental health education directly to your school in the form of interactive talks, workshops and courses. Please contact us at ocdcommunityhk@gmail.com for more details.
